Speaker: Dr. Allread, Life as an Ergonomics Consultant
October 8, 2012 5:30 - 6:30 pm Baker Systems Engineering Building Ergonomics professionals can apply their knowledge in many different ways. In this talk, Dr. Gary Allread will provide an overview of various ergonomics consulting activities that he has been involved with, give examples of how ergonomics evaluations are done in the “real world,” and offer his take on the advantages and disadvantages of being an ergonomics consultant. Gary Allread is Program Director for OSU’s Institute for Ergonomics. In this role, he consults with companies and organizations on a wide range of ergonomics issues. These include worksite evaluations, assistance in product design, and training on various ergonomics topics. Gary earned a PhD in industrial ergonomics and biomechanics in 2000 from Ohio State and is also a Certified Professional Ergonomist. We are raffling off the ergonomic keyboard at this meeting so if you got a ticket at the COE Activities fair, please remember to bring it. As always, pizza will be provided! |
